God's Perfect Way

     I am someone who likes to do things my own way. I have a hard time trusting others to plan out the right thing for me. I often think I know what’s best, when in reality I have no clue what I should or shouldn't do. Unfortunately, this bleeds into my relationship with the Lord. I believe I know what I'm doing and that I should plan my path. I forget that God has a plan already for me and that I just need to follow it.

    God promises us multiple times in Scripture that He will guide us down the right path and that He has a plan for our future — a plan that's better than anything we can imagine. Psalm 18:30 says, “This God — His way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him” (ESV). We can trust those promises because God has proven He can and does fulfill His Word. As we look forward into the future, we can be confident that as we follow God's way for our lives, He will fulfill His promises and guide us in the path we should go.

    As we follow God's path for our lives we may find ourselves questioning if God's way is the right way. But we can remember that not only has He planned the perfect way for us, He has also made promises to us that He will help and guide us. He will not let us walk the path alone or without Him.
